U.S. Labor Department Employment Statistics.
Hi ya, So glad to have you back again. Do leave a comment for what you want to see. Thanks for coming.“Temporary workers are starting to look, well, not so temporary,” begins a December 19, 2010 story in The New York Times. The article concerns the growing trend toward increased temporary staffing for what was once permanent corporate positions. In November alone, 80 percent of the 50,000 private sector jobs created were temporary positions, according to U.S. Labor Department statistics. As noted in the article, more than one-quarter of the estimated 1.17 million private sector jobs created this year were temporary positions. One staffing agency leader said even the notion of permanent employment is changing. Jonas Prising of Manpower, a national staffing agency, said the workers “need to expect that their lives and jobs will change much more often than they have in the past.”
To me, this once again points to the underlying need for individuals to find a means to control their destiny rather than having it decided for them. Why not view my Change your income video. It’s the holiday season and at the end of 2010. This is the time of year when many people begin looking at options for the coming year, and if there was ever a year when this was important, this is the time.
There are so many people now looking for an opportunity and a new start.
Own a Pet? You Could Encounter These Legal Issues
By Aleshia Altizer
Whether you’re a long-time pet owner, or pondering a furry addition to your family this holiday season, you probably already know there’s a lot of responsibility that comes with taking care of a pet. From dogs and cats, to reptiles and birds, over half the households in the U.S. own a pet (62% according to the American Pet Products Association 2009/2010 National Pet Owners Survey). Pets can bring a lot of joy to your family, but it’s also important to be aware that you could also encounter legal issues such as:
- Your pet bites someone (accidentally or intentionally).
- Another dog at the park gets into a fight with your dog.
- Your pet gets out of the yard and damages your neighbor’s property.
- Your pet causes someone to fall resulting in an injury.
- Your neighbor continuously complains about your dog barking.
- You have a question about exotic pet laws.
- You have questions concerning the state and federal regulations on pet breeding.
- Someone injures your pet.
- You purchase a pet and discover it has severe health problems.
A Life Events Legal PlanSM from Pre-Paid Legal means you have access to an experienced lawyer that you can consult on issues like the ones listed above or any other legal issue that may surface. In addition, you will have access to the Forms Service Center, which contains a variety of legal documents including pet-related forms.
